Currently, the polytechnic has over 25,000 students undertaking more than 138 programmes in 44 Academic Departments with a staff strength of about 2,963 (Academic and Non-Academic).

As a satellite campus of the Polytechnic, Ibadan, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree was founded in 1981. When the statute creating the Institution was signed by the State’s first executive governor, Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, it was formally established as a full-fledged institution in October 1992.

Federal Polytechnic, Oko was founded by the Anambra State government in Oko Town, Anambra in 1979. It was once a college of Arts and Science and later upgraded to a polytechnic.
