I have already explained the fact that you can’t register Jamb UTME and Jamb Direct Entry together the same year. However, a certain question keeps coming up; Can a JUPEB Candidate register for both UTME and Direct Entry (DE) this year 2024? NO.
Jupeb Candidates can’t Register UTME and DE Together. According to Jamb, whether you are a JUPEB, IJMB, ND or HND Result holder, you can’t register both Jamb UTME and Jamb Direct Entry together with the Result.
You may be wondering, what should I do with my JUPBE result when it comes to Jamb? You actually have three options:
- To Apply for Jamb Direct Entry with your Jupeb Result (if you have a good result)
- To simply register UTME for 100 level admission.
- Try UTME this year and then Direct entry next year with your Jupeb result.
If you went through Jupeb program, I don’t think you should take UTME. You have worked hard and spent one year already in school. Simply take Jamb direct entry with a great chance to gain admission directly into two hundred level (Year Two).
Maybe because of your parents, your Jupeb result, nature of the school you wish to apply to or for other reasons best known to you, you may as well choose to ignore Jupeb and sit for Jamb UTME 2024. But just make sure that you understand what you are doing.
The last option is to take the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (JAMB UTME) this year. If you do your best, you should gain admission and resume school from 100 level. This would make you build a strong foundation in the University. If it fails, since you already have Jupeb result, you can try Jamb direct entry next year.
The above operation can be reversed. Take Jamb direct entry this year and if it doesn’t work out, try Jamb UTME next year.
Not gaining admission the first time doesn’t make you a failure. What matters is that you gained admission to study your chosen course in your school of choice. Hope this helps?
