The Abdus Salam International Centre For theoretical Physics (ICTP), Italy, in collaboration with ASESMA (African School on Electronic Structure Methods and Applications) and University of Dschang, is organizing the “1st Central African School on Electronic Structure Methods and Applications (CASESMA)” to be held from November 18 to 23, 2019 in Dschang Cameroon.
In this article we would be looking at Central African School On Electronic Structure Methods and Applications 2019.
Objectives of CASESMA
With the increasing power and affordability of computers, electronic structure methods will be shown as a powerful tool to address challenging problems in Physics, Chemistry, and Material Science and as a valuable alternative to circumvent the high costs of experimental equipment, which in most of the cases is not affordable in developing countries like Cameroon. The scientific program will focus on density functional theory and molecular dynamics.
Who Can Participate
Scientist and students from countries members of the United Nations, UNESCO or IAEA, may attend the school subject to approval by the activity directors. The school is intended for early career scientists and advanced PhD students from central Africa.
The classes will be conducted in English. Participants should have an adequate working knowledge of that language.
There is no registration fee. Limited travel support and accommodation are available for foreign participants. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
